Claiming your business on Google is easy, free and comes with some great benefits for your online presence!

#1: It opens a two way street between you and your clients.

They will be able to publicly rate and review the experience they had while doing business with you and, in exchange, you will have the possibility to reply to them directly.

Tip: Take the time to answer any and all reviews directed to your company! It’s important to thank happy customers for their business and to take care of any complaints or inquires. 

#2: It offers directions to your business.

This makes it easy for potential clients to find you and to get to your location immediately, just by searching for your name on Google.

#3: It displays your phone number.

Your phone number will be shown underneath your business name and bonus: with the “Call” button which displays on mobile searches, the process of contacting you is simplified substantially: you will become one click away!

#4: It displays your hours of operation.

If you’re open on the weekends, why not tell that to your customers as well?

#5: It allows you to add photos of your business, inside and out.

Claim your business on Google in 5 easy steps!

Step 1: Search.

Navigate to Google MyBusiness and from there search for your business name and or/address. Don’t worry if you cannot find it in the results. Look for the option of “Add your business” and afterwards just fill out the information!

Step 2: Fill in the required information.

We recommend that you fill in all required information accurately. You will be asked for basic business information, such as phone number, address, e-mail address, website, hours of operation.

Step 3: Verify your business.

You may do this by either phone or mail. Either way, you will be sent a verification code which you will then need to enter in your dashboard in order to claim your business.

Step 4: Finish up by adding your logo and pictures!

You will be able to add a cover photo and a logo, as well as any other pictures that  best represent your company! And have no fear, there is no such thing as too many pictures!

Tip: Cover photo size for Google Plus displays best when it is 1080 x 608 pixels , while the logo should be 250 x 250 pixels.

Step 5: Post regular updates!

On mobile, your updates will appear to anyone who is searching for you! Post about special offers or important company announcements. Either way, keep your content fresh and engaging! Use hashtags to start a conversation on topics of interest!

Tip: Don’t forget to customize your URL! Shortly after you claim your page, you will be notified that you are pre-approved for a custom link. Make sure to take advantage of this!
